Featured case study on the Jitterbit website: Odyssey Logistics Case Study
Odyssey Logistics came to KOgent looking for an integration solution for one of their clients, a manufacturer of high performance plastic compounds for use in a multitude of industries. They had come to Odyssey Logistics in need of a shipping solution, specifically for domestic transport throughout North America. Odyssey’s WIN (Web Integrated Network) system allows for the complete online management of shipments and carriers as well as access to Odyssey’s vast carrier network.
Although WIN can be used as a stand-alone system with manual order input, this was not ideal as the daily domestic shipments for this company range from 40 to 50 separate orders totaling roughly 1.2 million pounds of manufactured material. The necessity for automated order creation in this case was obvious.
SAP is used to manage their Business, so the question became “How can we integrate SAP with WIN in a robust and cost-effective way?” KOgent came on board and using the Jitterbit SAP Connector we were able to pull orders from the SAP to automatically create orders in WIN. This integration allowed Odyssey and WIN to gain a long-term, large customer through a reasonable investment of both time and expense.
